Role as an academic

Professor Gianfranco Antonio Vento, a distinguished academic, has made significant contributions to the fields of banking, finance, and microfinance throughout his career. Since April 2008, he has held the Chair of Banking and Finance at Guglielmo Marconi University, where he leads critical modules such as ‘Banking’, ‘Financial Intermediaries’, and ‘Risk Management’. His research in these areas, coupled with his role on the Board of Directors, underscores his influence and leadership within the institution. Prof. Vento has also been instrumental in several EU projects as a finance expert, further showcasing his expertise and commitment to advancing financial knowledge and practices.

At Regent’s University London, where he served from September 2007 to October 2020, Prof. Vento held the title of Full Professor of Banking and Finance and directed the Centre for Applied Finance & Banking. His leadership extended to the Academic Senate and various critical modules, including ‘Microfinance’ and ‘Global Banking’. Additionally, he has enriched the academic community through visiting professorships at prestigious institutions such as University College London and City University, London. Prof. Vento’s editorial and advisory roles, along with his notable research and publications, reflect his dedication to the academic and practical advancements in financial education and regulation.
